Res­i­dents in Hl­well Gyi claim their lands have been seized

Res­i­dents in Hl­well Gyi Vil­lage, Nay Pyi Taw Coun­cil Area, said that their lands have been seized, and ob­jected to the mil­i­tary’s or­der telling them to move out of their homes by the end of April, ac­cord­ing to re­ports.

The mil­i­tary’s Kha La Ya (22) is­sued the or­der for se­cu­rity rea­sons. The vil­lage was founded in 1985-86.Four Kayan eth­nic or­ga­ni­za­tions also is­sued a joint state­ment against the or­der of Kha La Ya (22).There are 51 house­holds in the vil­lage, ac­cord­ing to the joint state­ment.
