Co­or­di­na­tion meet­ing on na­tional en­ergy pol­icy held in Nay Pyi Taw

Aco­or­di­na­tion meet­ing on na­tional en­ergy pol­icy was held at the Myan­mar In­ter­na­tional Con­ven­tion Cen­ter-2 in Nay Pyi Taw on April 25.

Speak­ing at the meet­ing, State Coun­sel­lor Aung San Suu Kyi said, “Only if trans­port and elec­tric­ity are bet­ter will for­eign in­vestors be in­ter­ested in in­vest­ing in the coun­try.”

In Myan­mar, only about 35 per­cent of the coun­try has ac­cess to elec­tric­ity, ac­cord­ing to the En­ergy Min­istry and there is only one ex­press­way which is the 587-km Yan­gon-Man­dalay Ex­press­way.
