UPDJC meet­ing reaches agree­ment on 33 points

The Union Peace Di­a­logue Joint Com­mit­tee (UPDJC) on May 28 reached agree­ment on 33 points out of 41. The achieve­ment came at the com­mit­tee’s 11th meet­ing in Nay Pyi Taw.State Coun­sel­lor and UPDJC chair­per­son Aung San Suu Kyi de­liv­ered a brief open­ing speech at the meet­ing.Peace ne­go­tia­tors from the gov­ern­ment, the Par­lia­ment, the Myan­mar Armed Forces, eth­nic armed or­gan­i­sa­tions and po­lit­i­cal par­ties dis­cussed the 41 points in the meet­ing. Twenty-one out of 41 points are po­lit­i­cal is­sues.

UPDJC mem­bers con­sist of 16 rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the gov­ern­ment, the Par­lia­ment and the Myan­mar Armed Forces, 16 from eth­nic armed or­gan­i­sa­tions, and 15 from po­lit­i­cal par­ties at­tended the meet­ing.
