UPDJC meeting reaches agreement on 33 points
The Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee (UPDJC) on May 28 reached agreement on 33 points out of 41. The achievement came at the committee’s 11th meeting in Nay Pyi Taw.State Counsellor and UPDJC chairperson Aung San Suu Kyi delivered a brief opening speech at the meeting.Peace negotiators from the government, the Parliament, the Myanmar Armed Forces, ethnic armed organisations and political parties discussed the 41 points in the meeting. Twenty-one out of 41 points are political issues.
UPDJC members consist of 16 representatives from the government, the Parliament and the Myanmar Armed Forces, 16 from ethnic armed organisations, and 15 from political parties attended the meeting.
