Myan­mar in­tro­duces new mea­sures to pro­tect child labour­ers

The Myan­mar gov­ern­ment will re­lease a list of jobs which are warned as un­suit­able for chil­dren to do in the coun­try to pre­vent them from work­ing in hazardous con­di­tion, Xin­hua re­ported quot­ing state me­dia. The move was aimed at help­ing pro­tect the chil­dren's right to sur­vive, labour rights and right to ed­u­ca­tion, among oth­ers, the re­port said. There are nearly 1.3 mil­lion child labour­ers in Myan­mar, 80 per­cent of them are from ru­ral ar­eas, ac­cord­ing to sur­veys.
