This file photo taken on April 28, 2015 is a long-exposure photograph taken on showing the Milky Way in the clear night sky at Ngwe Saung beach, west of Pathein in Myanmar’s Irrawaddy Region. Matter from galaxies far, far away could make up as much as half the Milky Way and everything in it -- including ourselves, astronomers said on July 27. New supercomputer simulations showed it was likely that much of the matter in the Milky Way came from galaxies up to a million light years away, they wrote in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
