Court freezes Musharraf’s bank ac­counts

A spe­cial court try­ing for­mer Pakistani mil­i­tary ruler Pervez Musharraf for trea­son has passed an or­der freez­ing his bank ac­counts and con­fis­cat­ing his prop­erty. The head of a three-judge panel, Mazhar Alam Miankhel, made the or­der in the ab­sence of the for­mer pres­i­dent, who left for Dubai in March for med­i­cal treat­ment. Mr Musharraf faces mul­ti­ple charges, in­clud­ing trea­son and mur­der over the as­sas­si­na­tion of for­mer prime min­is­ter Be­nazir Bhutto in 2007.
