Hillary hails ‘biggest crack’ in glass ceiling

The Myanmar Times - - World -

HILLARY Clinton told Democrats they had “put the biggest crack” yet in the glass ceiling for women, as she became the first female White House nominee for a major political party.

“If there are any little girls out there who stayed up late to watch, let me just say I may become the first woman president, but one of you is next,” she told the convention in a video message.

Ms Clinton will address the convention finale today to formally accept the nomination.

Meanwhile, about 100 Hollywood actors and music stars, from Lena Dunham to Moby, have signed a petition against what they say is the “hateful ideology” of Republican White House hopeful Donald Trump.

“We are a coalition of artists who are joining millions of Americans in our commitment to defeat the presumptive Republican nominee for president, Donald Trump,” the online pledge reads. –
