Truck driver rams pedestrians and electric train post at high speed
A container truck en route to Yangon Region’s Botahtaung township from Bago Region’s Thanatpin township was speeding in Seikkan township on August 11 when it hit two pedestrians and destroyed a post used to power the electric train. The driver, Win Aung, 50, could face up to seven years in prison for the K12 million damage done to the post.
There is no word on the condition of the pedestrians. Kyaw Thet, 37, were stopped by police at a bus gate. Aung Kyaw’s bag contained K19,500, which, police say, was stolen.
They face up to three years in prison.
