NY commuter train derailment leaves 33 injured
A New York City commuter train sideswiped a maintenance train and derailed, leaving 33 people injured, authorities said. Four of those injured are in serious condition. The mishap occurred 30 kilometres (20 miles) east of the city. The work train, used for track maintenance, “violated the clearance” of the passenger train, the first three cars of which derailed. The trains were headed in the same direction.
