Drunk man allegedly kills daughters
A 51-year-old Kyaukpadaung township man is accused of killing his two daughters on October 20 after he was cut off from drinking alcohol, Mandalay Region police said.
U Win Kyine and his older brother U Hla Win, the accused, live in Poon village. U Win Kyine stopped by his brother’s and found Ma Zin Mar Lwin, 18, and Ma Kyi Nuu Htwe, 4, dead in the shrine room with bruises on their necks. Nearby was a knife, 24 by 2 inches. At the time, U Hla Win’s wife, Daw Hla Htwe was at work.
U Hla Win also had bruises on his neck and was sent from the Kyaukpadaung hospital to the Nyanung Oo hospital. He is charged with murder under section 302 of the penal code and faces life in prison if convicted. section 105 and 106 of the Central Bank Law for using counterfeit money and if convicted faces a maximum combined sentence of 23 years in prison.
