Drunk man al­legedly kills daugh­ters

A 51-year-old Kyauk­padaung township man is ac­cused of killing his two daugh­ters on Oc­to­ber 20 after he was cut off from drink­ing al­co­hol, Man­dalay Re­gion po­lice said.

U Win Kyine and his older brother U Hla Win, the ac­cused, live in Poon vil­lage. U Win Kyine stopped by his brother’s and found Ma Zin Mar Lwin, 18, and Ma Kyi Nuu Htwe, 4, dead in the shrine room with bruises on their necks. Nearby was a knife, 24 by 2 inches. At the time, U Hla Win’s wife, Daw Hla Htwe was at work.

U Hla Win also had bruises on his neck and was sent from the Kyauk­padaung hos­pi­tal to the Nya­nung Oo hos­pi­tal. He is charged with mur­der un­der sec­tion 302 of the pe­nal code and faces life in prison if con­victed. sec­tion 105 and 106 of the Cen­tral Bank Law for us­ing coun­ter­feit money and if con­victed faces a max­i­mum com­bined sen­tence of 23 years in prison.
