Man killed by brother-in-law in paddy field fight
A 42-year-old Taikkyi township man was killed by his brother-in-law on November 11 after a scuffle in a paddy field, police said.
Ko Thant Zin was working in the field with his family when, at about noon, he got into an argument with Ko Tin Shwe aka Kyauk Phar, his brother-in-law. Ko Thant Zin pointed a sharp object at Ko Tin Shwe who responded with his sickle, slicing Ko Thant Zin’s neck. Ko Thant Zin died on the spot. Ko Tin Shwe is on the run. Police have charged him under section 302 of the penal code, for murder. If caught and convicted, he could face life in prison.
