Mo­tor­cy­cle cab­bie robbed

A mo­tor­cy­cle taxi driver was robbed of his mo­tor­cy­cle and a gold chain on Novem­ber 11.

Ko Aung Aung of Shwe Pyi Thar town­ship picked up two men who asked for a ride to a fac­tory in the Thar Dhu Kan in­dus­trial zone. When they ar­rived, the men asked him to take them to a dif­fer­ent fac­tory. Half­way there, they pushed him off the bike and beat his head with a bot­tle. They grabbed his K385,000 gold chain and his bike. The cab­bie hopped on an­other bike and be­gan to pur­sue them. At the Thabarwa bus stop, a Toy­ota Probox smashed into the cul­prits, wound­ing them.

Po­lice ar­rested Ko Aung Myat Thu, 17, and Ko Khine Lin, 22. They are be­ing charged un­der sec­tions 394 and 114 of the pe­nal code, one for caus­ing hurt dur­ing a rob­bery and the other for abet­ting rob­bery.
