Pedes­trian killed by bus

A 48-year-old Shwe Pyi Thar town­ship man was killed by a bus on Novem­ber 27, ac­cord­ing to po­lice.

At 11:30am, U Thein Myint was cross­ing the street near a bus stop when he was struck by a bus driven by Ko Zaw Zaw Aung, 32, of Aye­yarwady Re­gion.

U Thein Myint suf­fered a cracked skull and in­flam­ma­tion of the brain. He died while be­ing sent to the hos­pi­tal.

Min­gal­adon town­ship po­lice have charged the driver un­der sec­tion 304 of the pe­nal code, for homi­cide not amount­ing to mur­der. If con­victed, he could face 10 years in prison. – Toe Wai Aung, trans­la­tion by Win Thaw Tar, Emoon and
