Travel short distances. Don’t ride more than 250 – 300 km per day, or you won’t have time to appreciate the scenery and the people along the way. Buy food on the road. Don’t pack too many supplies. If you’re not a picky eater, you’ll find something to eat everywhere you go. Be your own mechanic. You need to take the necessary tools and parts (like extra brake and clutch levers) to sort out basic mechanical problems and flat tyres. Sharing is caring. We shared a three-man tent and cooking gear like an MSR stove, which uses different fuels.
