MAZDA re­ports a steady sales growth VOLK­SWA­GEN fac­tory tour ve­hi­cle birth­day

Mazda has re­tained the sales mo­men­tum built over the pre­ced­ing months with a NAAMSA re­ported to­tal of 949 units at the end of July 2016. It was also a record month for the CX-5 which achieved the high­est dealer sales in the medium SUV seg­ment with 381 recorded for July 2016. Mazda grew Jan­uary to July sales by 64% with 2016 Year to Date sales of 7,261 ver­sus 4,694 units sold in 2015. This growth comes at a time where ve­hi­cle sales in South Africa are down by 17%, while pas­sen­ger cars de­clined by 20% and to­tal ve­hi­cle sales are down by 11% Year on Year. Volk­swa­gen's “Fac­to­ry­tour” ve­hi­cle was three years old last month and has taken just short of 40,000 vis­i­tors into the Uiten­hage Fac­tory. The stylish 21-seater Fac­to­ry­tour ve­hi­cle was cus­tom built by Volk­swa­gen em­ploy­ees us­ing re­cy­cled and un­used car parts. The nov­elty of their ap­proach, us­ing three cars, re­sulted in a com­fort­able, prac­ti­cal and stylish 21-seater ve­hi­cle.
