“Chinese President to visit Nepal”
Dr. Ji Zhiye, President of the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), a think tank under China's State Council, said that the upcoming visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping would further enhance NepalChina bilateral relations. At a time when doubts were being created on the visit of President Xi after the political change in Kathmandu, the highranking Chinese officer assured that President Xi will be visiting Kathmandu this year. President Ji, addressing a gathering organised by China Study Centre on Monday evening, also wished for Nepal's better relations with India. A five member delegation of CICIR, arrived in Kathmandu on Monday, 8 August. The delegation of CICIR, counterpart of China Study Center-Nepal (CSCNepal), will be on a four day Nepal visit at the invitation of CSC-Nepal. The visit aims to have bilateral academic and policy level exchanges to deepen understanding for enhanced cooperation between the two countries. Other members of the delegation include Dr. Hu Shisheng, Director, Institute of South and South East Asian Studies, Han Liqun, Researcher, Institute of World Politics, Ms. Wang Haixia, Researcher, Institute of South and South East Asian Studies, and Ms. Zheng Shiyun, Coordinator, Department of International Academic Exchanges, CICIR.
