Deuba hints to make Nidhi second man in NC
NC president and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba hinted that he was appointing Bimalendra Nidhi to the vacant post of the vice president in the party. He gave a clear signal to this by giving Nidhi the responsibility of officiating president during his recent state visit to India. Deuba had not given such responsibility during his visit to Singapore a few weeks ago. NC President Deuba has been unable to appoint vice-president, general and co secretary in the party even 16 months after he was elected the president of the party as several NC leaders are vying for the posts. Khum Bahadur Khadka, Purna Bahadur Khadka and Gopal Man Shrestha are showing their interest to become vice president while Ramesh Lekhaka, Bal Krishna Khand, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki want the post of general secretary in the party. Dr Shekhar Koirala has publicly challenged Deuba's decision to give the responsibility of officiating president to Nidhi. It seems Deuba is likely to complete his term as party president without appointing office bearers in the party.
