Two other policemen suspended
Nepal Police Headquarters suspended two police officials involved in the police investigation in the case of Nirmala Panta’s rape and murder. Issuing a press note on Monday, the Headquarters said Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Harsingh Dhami and police constable Chandani Saud of Kanchanpur District Police Office were suspended. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and spokesperson at the Police Headquarters Shailesh Thapa Chhetri said that Dhami and Saud were suspended based on the probe panel report that was made public by the government on Sunday evening. The body of 13-year-old Panta of Bhimduttanagr Municipality in Kanchanpur district was found in raped and murdered condition on July 27 at Bhimduttangar Municipality-18 near Nimbukheda of the district. But no culprit of the crime has been arrested till date. The government had already suspended five police officials, including the then District in-charge and Superintendent of Police (SP) of Kanchanpur, Dilli Raj Bista.
