Two other po­lice­men sus­pended

Nepal Po­lice Head­quar­ters sus­pended two po­lice of­fi­cials in­volved in the po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tion in the case of Nir­mala Panta’s rape and mur­der. Is­su­ing a press note on Mon­day, the Head­quar­ters said As­sis­tant Sub-In­spec­tor (ASI) Hars­ingh Dhami and po­lice con­sta­ble Chandani Saud of Kan­chan­pur Dis­trict Po­lice Of­fice were sus­pended. Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent of Po­lice (SSP) and spokesper­son at the Po­lice Head­quar­ters Shailesh Thapa Ch­hetri said that Dhami and Saud were sus­pended based on the probe panel re­port that was made pub­lic by the gov­ern­ment on Sun­day even­ing. The body of 13-year-old Panta of Bhim­dut­tanagr Mu­nic­i­pal­ity in Kan­chan­pur dis­trict was found in raped and mur­dered con­di­tion on July 27 at Bhim­dut­tan­gar Mu­nic­i­pal­ity-18 near Nim­bukheda of the dis­trict. But no cul­prit of the crime has been ar­rested till date. The gov­ern­ment had al­ready sus­pended five po­lice of­fi­cials, in­clud­ing the then Dis­trict in-charge and Su­per­in­ten­dent of Po­lice (SP) of Kan­chan­pur, Dilli Raj Bista.
