Short film awards open
Young filmmakers are being given their chance to shine.
Entries are open for the fifth annual Youthtown Short Film Challenge for 13 to 18 year-olds.
A new award this year will be given for best documentary, as well as awards for acting, directing, music, cinematography, editing, scriptwriting and best film.
Competition organiser Jewelz Petley says the level of entries has gone up a notch each year since the competition started and she is expecting the same to happen this year.
“There seems to be no shortage of talent out there and we’re delighted to be helping bring it forward.”
Entries must be received by July 25.
Youthtown will be holding short film workshops every Saturday between May 10 and June 28 at its central Auckland hub in Nelson St.
