His­toric sites

Her­itage pro­tec­tion for nine his­toric sites has been con­firmed by Auck­land City Coun­cil.

The adop­tion of dis­trict plan change 194 was ap­proved at a meet­ing last month.

The change cov­ers the Green Bay Mis­sion Hall, the Block­house Bay sea­wall, St Joseph’s Catholic church in Grey Lynn, and a tram shel­ter in West­ern Springs.

It also in­cludes four Mt Eden sites: Cuck­sey’s Build­ings, Am­bury’s Dairy, the war me­mo­rial en­trance to Auck­land Nor­mal In­ter­me­di­ate and me­mo­rial gates at Mt Eden Nor­mal Pri­mary.

All sites will be­come cat­e­gory B her­itage items.
