Enjoy your outdoor area year round

Auckland City Harbour News - - Sport -

This winter you don’t have to hunker down inside your home. No matter how harsh nature can be, the simple addition of an awning or drop curtain to a deck or patio will allow you to live outdoors a lot more.

Awnings are extremely versatile fixtures - they not only add zing to the exterior of your home, they can create extra liv- ing spaces, and save you money on energy costs. Sleek, modern and stylish, these coveted coverings are also a treat for the eyes.

One of the biggest players in this market segment is Cool Awnings. Having served the needs of New Zealanders for the past 30 years, they are an integral part of the country’s decorscape.

After a change of ownership they have moved into a sprawling new offi and showroom complex on Morrin Road in Panmure.

“The new showroom reflects the huge response from our customers,” says CEO Kylie Glenn, who brings with her a keen eye for style and a new business approach that puts the customer first.

The showroom, with plenty of parking outside, provides acres of space for customers to browse through the massive range on display.

“Every awning is specifi fabricated to protect you and your belongings from the weather and to provide premium shelter,” says Kylie.

Most awnings and curtain designs are available in hand-rolled, crank-operated or motorised options. The tension shade system is another option for protection outdoors - built with a PVC cover over a steel or aluminium frame, it’s ideal for a carport or even as an extra room.

They can also provide front gutters on both the awnings and tension shade system to ensure people don’t get dripped on when they are out in the rain.

Cool Awnings can also brighten a drab storefront, and transform shopping malls and hotels with an unlimited palate of design possibilities. Any logo or graphic can be added to give you round-the-clock visibility.

Take advantage of Cool Awnings’ free measure and quote, and onsite consultation service. An experienced tradesman will visit your premises to discuss your individual needs and provide a quote to custom make to your specifications.

With a welder, sail maker and builder on board, you can be assured of quality workmanship from scratch to finish!

“All hardware is guaranteed for five years and fabric for a minimum of three,” says Kylie. But with Cool Awnings’ track record, awnings and shades are likely to keep going for 10-15 years.

Providing outstanding and prompt service is a priority - from recovering existing deck chairs to complement new awnings and shades, as well as cleaning existing shades for a fresher look. Custom made blinds in Roman, Holland and Venetian styles is another service.

Even as new designs and ideas keep spinning out of Cool Awnings, Kylie and husband John (General Manager) have ensured that the company’s cherished values and the experienced team of top-notch craftsmen remain the same. Now, that’s cool!
