Ful­bright of­fers chance for study in the States

Ful­bright New Zealand says ap­pli­ca­tions are now open for an ed­u­ca­tion re­searcher award, a writ­ers’ res­i­dency and an ed­u­ca­tion schol­ar­ship.

The Ful­bright-Cog­ni­tion Ed­u­ca­tion Re­search Trust scholar award in ed­u­ca­tion re­search will be awarded to an emerg­ing or es­tab­lished re­searcher with an ac­tive re­search in­ter­est in the broader school­ing sec­tor.

They will spend three to five months in the United States col­lect­ing, col­lat­ing, analysing and us­ing data for a re­search project de­signed to have an im­pact on New Zealand school­ing and stu­dent achieve­ment.

The Ful­bright-Creative New Zealand Pa­cific writ­ers’ res­i­dency of­fers a New Zealand writer the op­por­tu­nity to work for three months on a creative writ­ing project ex­plor­ing Pa­cific iden­tity, cul­ture or his­tory at the Univer­sity of Hawaii.

It is open to play­wrights, fiction and non­fic­tion writ­ers, po­ets and screen writ­ers.

Ap­pli­ca­tions are also open for the US gov­ern­ment’s most fa­mous and valu­able ed­u­ca­tion schol­ar­ships – the In­ter­na­tional Ful­bright Science and Tech­nol­ogy Awards.

Val­ued at over NZ$350,000 each, the awards are for promis­ing grad­u­ate stu­dents to un­der­take fully funded PhD study at top US univer­si­ties.
