Fulbright offers chance for study in the States
Fulbright New Zealand says applications are now open for an education researcher award, a writers’ residency and an education scholarship.
The Fulbright-Cognition Education Research Trust scholar award in education research will be awarded to an emerging or established researcher with an active research interest in the broader schooling sector.
They will spend three to five months in the United States collecting, collating, analysing and using data for a research project designed to have an impact on New Zealand schooling and student achievement.
The Fulbright-Creative New Zealand Pacific writers’ residency offers a New Zealand writer the opportunity to work for three months on a creative writing project exploring Pacific identity, culture or history at the University of Hawaii.
It is open to playwrights, fiction and nonfiction writers, poets and screen writers.
Applications are also open for the US government’s most famous and valuable education scholarships – the International Fulbright Science and Technology Awards.
Valued at over NZ$350,000 each, the awards are for promising graduate students to undertake fully funded PhD study at top US universities.
