Hair­styl­ist joins in cam­paign

A re­search trust and a hair pro­fes­sional are teaming up to help fight breast can­cer.

The Breast Can­cer Re­search Trust will benefi from the part­ner­ship with Rod­ney Wayne and Keras­tase.

A stylist will di­ag­nose each client’s scalp and hair needs then pre­scribe a per­son­alised Rit­ual for a Cure treat­ment.

Rod­ney Wayne will do­nate $3 to the trust for ev­ery Rit­ual for a Cure ex­pe­ri­ence pur­chased.

Trust chair­woman Hi­lary Lewis says it is de­lighted with the part­ner­ship.

“Rod­ney Wayne un­der­stands breast can­cer is an is­sue that is close to the hearts of many of their clients and we are re­ally pleased they are work­ing with us to help find a cure,” she says.

The cam­paign got un­der way last month.

It hopes to raise more than $30,000 in to­tal for breast can­cer re­search.

Rod­ney Wayne says: “Breast can­cer in this coun­try claims the lives of too many women, and we are com­mit­ted to help­ing the trust fund im­por­tant re­search.

“Most women un­der­go­ing treat­ment for breast can­cer have to face the har­row­ing prospect of los­ing their ‘crown­ing glory’ and so we are ask­ing our clients to not only en­joy the Rit­ual for a Cure but also spend time think­ing of how other women are un­able to en­joy such an ex­pe­ri­ence due to their ill­ness,” Mr Wayne says.

The Breast Can­cer Re­search Trust is New Zealand’s only breast can­cer re­search char­ity.
