Day challenges youth to excel
Young leaders will be flooding into Manukau next month.
The 2008 National Young Leaders Day for primary and intermediate students will be held at the TelstraClear Pacifi Events Centre on May 21-22.
This year’s lineup of speakers includes adventurer Mark Inglis, Adventure Racing Team captain Nathan Faavae and former Silver Fern Linda Vagana.
Organised by the Halogen Foundation, the event challenges students to “own their world” and play an active part in it.
It has become New Zealand’s largest student leadership event with more than 10,000 primary, intermediate and secondary students attending each year.
This year, two Auckland students will receive a Westpac Student Leadership Award with cash prizes.
Tickets cost $42 per student and $15 for staff members and parents.
