Mother’s Day event helps a good cause

Fam­i­lies are be­ing in­vited to cel­e­brate Mother’s Day in style.

Her­itage Auck­land’s Grand Tea­rooms are putting on a high tea on Sun­day, start­ing at 2.30pm.

The event is be­ing hosted by the Breast Can­cer Re­search Trust, an or­gan­i­sa­tion that has raised over $5 mil­lion to­wards breast can­cer re­search projects since it be­gan 10 years ago.

Trust chair­woman Hi­lary Lewis hope guests will en­joy the af­ter­noon’s en­ter­tain­ment as well as the se­lec­tion of de­li­cious treats that will be on of­fer.

But she hopes they will also take time to think about those who have lost their moth­ers to breast can­cer.

Ev­ery guest will have the op­por­tu­nity to win $3000 worth of An­gela Daniel Jew­ellery and will re­ceive a goody bag worth more than $75.

Tick­ets cost $49 and are avail­able through Tick­etek.

All pro­ceeds from the event go to­wards the char­ity whose mis­sion is clear – to find a cure for breast can­cer.
