Self-defence for women
Women looking to protect themselves can learn how to do so with a free self-defence course.
Samurai Karate NZ has put together a comprehensive programme which gives women the basic tools to deal with the most common kinds of assault in a positive way.
The four-week course will teach basic principles of self-defence, being aware of possible attacks and how they occur, personal security in a range of environments and how to generate impact with hands and legs.
The course will run on four Wednesdays, starting on May 21 at 6.30pm.
It will be held at the Samurai School of Shukokai Karate, 128A Onehunga Mall. Participants need to wear loose comfortable clothing and no jewellery.
