Man takes huge risk with house auction
A Henderson resident will be nervously awaiting the result of bids this month when his house goes up for auction.
The man, who has asked not to be named, has put a $1 reserve on the Edmonton Rd property.
“I need to go overseas in June,” he says.
“I was told the best option is a no-reserve auction.”
The man says he is aware of the risk he’s taking and will have to accept the final bid.
“It’s the rules of the auction.
“I just hope a lot of people turn up on the day.”
The house, at 64 Edmonton Rd, is believed to have been built in 1945 for Claude Brooks, who started off the Tui Glen holiday park.
It will be auctioned by Ray White Real Estate on May 31 at 1pm.
