Gunson at park
Prolific New Zealand author, illustrator and painter Dave Gunson is displaying some of his art works at the Cornwall Park Information Centre.
Mr Gunson will be exhibiting a range of work from the drawn to the painted in Drawings and Studies from Saturday to June 15.
It will be a sample of his many styles and subjects, ranging from finely detailed depictions of New Zealand’s unique wildlife, to pencil sketches of Cornwall Park and surrounds, and his more abstract painted works.
There will also be images of St Heliers Bay, Mt St John and a lot of native New Zealand bird images.
The North Shore artist is a finalist in this year’s New Zealand Post Children’s Book Awards for his illustrations in A Mini Guide to the Identification of New Zealand Land Birds, written by Andrew Crowe.
Mr Gunson has produced a number of postage stamps and illustrated more than 80 books.
The exhibition will be open daily from 10am to 4pm.
