Gun­son at park

Pro­lific New Zealand au­thor, il­lus­tra­tor and painter Dave Gun­son is dis­play­ing some of his art works at the Corn­wall Park In­for­ma­tion Cen­tre.

Mr Gun­son will be ex­hibit­ing a range of work from the drawn to the painted in Draw­ings and Stud­ies from Satur­day to June 15.

It will be a sam­ple of his many styles and sub­jects, rang­ing from finely de­tailed de­pic­tions of New Zealand’s unique wildlife, to pen­cil sketches of Corn­wall Park and sur­rounds, and his more ab­stract painted works.

There will also be images of St He­liers Bay, Mt St John and a lot of na­tive New Zealand bird images.

The North Shore artist is a fi­nal­ist in this year’s New Zealand Post Chil­dren’s Book Awards for his il­lus­tra­tions in A Mini Guide to the Iden­ti­fi­ca­tion of New Zealand Land Birds, writ­ten by Andrew Crowe.

Mr Gun­son has pro­duced a num­ber of postage stamps and il­lus­trated more than 80 books.

The ex­hi­bi­tion will be open daily from 10am to 4pm.
