An en­ter­tain­ment ex­trav­a­ganza with a heart is set to hit the ASB Show­grounds in Green­lane.

40 Hour LIVE is a new ini­tia­tive from the or­gan­is­ers of the 40 Hour Famine, which runs from 8pm on Fri­day to noon on Sun­day.

Kiwi bands such as Ele­meno P, The Black Seeds and Band of Strangers will hit the stage through­out the week­end, with free en­try for 40 Hour Famine par­tic­i­pants.

In ad­di­tion to the mu­sic there will be skate parks, celebrity ap­pear­ances, com­pe­ti­tions and late-night movies to keep peo­ple en­ter­tained, all while rais­ing funds for projects in Asia, Africa and South Amer­ica.
