A perfect day on the pitch
It was the perfect round for local sides in the Northern Premier Women’s Football League with Lynn-Avon United, Western Springs and Three Kings United all recording victories on Sunday.
A Grace Vincent goal 10 minutes from time saw Western Springs pass a stubborn Waitakere City 1-0 at Seddon Fields. Meanwhile title-holders Three Kings recorded a 3-1 win against Glenfield Rovers at McFetridge Park.
Two goals around the halfhour mark from Betsy Hassett and Merissa Smith put the visitors in charge. Lauren Murray extended their advantage just before the hour.
And at Ken Maunder Park, Lynn-Avon dominated Eastern Suburbs 6-0.
All roads lead to Keith Hay Park this Sunday as Three Kings and Lynn-Avon face off, while Eastern Suburbs play Western Springs at Madills Farm. Both matches start at 1pm.
