Quick work contains diesel spill
A diesel spill was safely contained on Monday after a truck overturned on New North Rd in Mt Albert.
The driver was unhurt when the truck carrying a digger overturned near the corner of Asquith Ave at about noon.
The Fire Service says diesel spilled from the truck’s fuel tank after the crash.
Auckland Regional Council pollution control officer Toby Barach says the diesel was prevented from entering waterways by sealing off drains.
A sucker vehicle was on hand when the truck was righted in case of any further spill, but it was not needed.
