Med school needs help from mums
If you’re about to have a child, you could help the next generation of New Zealand doctors.
The Auckland University medical school is seeking 20 women close to giving birth who are willing to allow medical students to visit their newborn seven or eight times over a 12 to 15 month period.
Paediatrics lecturer Phillipa Clark says it is a valuable experience for students because many haven’t had much contact with babies.
