Three Kings come un­stuck

North­ern Pre­mier Foot­ball League women’s champs Three Kings United suf­fered a ma­jor set­back in their hunt for a third straight ti­tle af­ter a 1-0 loss to Lyn­nAvon on Sun­day.

The grip­ping con­test was set­tled 13 min­utes from time by Emma Kete, who struck against her old club to leave Lynn-Avon with five wins from as many matches.

Mean­while West­ern Springs over­came East­ern Sub­urbs 2-1 at Madills Farm, where Grace Vin­cent opened the scor­ing against her old club 10 min­utes into the sec­ond half.

Flora McLeod lev­elled, but Priscilla Dun­can clinched the points for Springs.

Lynn-Avon and West­ern Springs both have 15 points, al­though Lynn-Avon lead on goal dif­fer­ence, while Three Kings sit in a dis­tant third on 10 points.
