Three Kings come unstuck
Northern Premier Football League women’s champs Three Kings United suffered a major setback in their hunt for a third straight title after a 1-0 loss to LynnAvon on Sunday.
The gripping contest was settled 13 minutes from time by Emma Kete, who struck against her old club to leave Lynn-Avon with five wins from as many matches.
Meanwhile Western Springs overcame Eastern Suburbs 2-1 at Madills Farm, where Grace Vincent opened the scoring against her old club 10 minutes into the second half.
Flora McLeod levelled, but Priscilla Duncan clinched the points for Springs.
Lynn-Avon and Western Springs both have 15 points, although Lynn-Avon lead on goal difference, while Three Kings sit in a distant third on 10 points.
