Play to raise funds for al­lergy suf­fer­ers

A group of well known ac­tors are tak­ing to the stage to help Peter Leitch help Al­lergy New Zealand.

The Auck­land Theatre Com­pany is per­form­ing Who Needs Sleep Any­way? by play­wrights Roger Hall and his daugh­ter Pip Hall at SkyCity Theatre on June 25.

The 6.30pm per­for­mance, star­ring Kiwi fun­ny­man Mark Had­low as the lov­able Baby P, will be a fundraiser for Al­lergy New Zealand – the char­ity that works to im­prove qual­ity of life for peo­ple with al­ler­gies.

Mr Leitch, the Mad Butcher, is Al­lergy New Zealand’s am­bas­sador. He will be there to meet peo­ple and will be sell­ing and sign­ing copies of his newly re­leased bi­og­ra­phy What a Ride Mate! The Life and Times of the Mad Butcher.

Af­ter the show there will be a ques­tion and an­swer ses­sion and guests will be in to win spot prizes in­clud­ing a voucher for Mad Butcher prod­ucts, Sky­tower tick­ets and a Moun­tain Breeze air pu­ri­fier. There are more than $1000 of prizes to be won.

Who Needs Sleep Any­way? is a com­edy cel­e­bra­tion of 100 years of bring­ing up ba­bies un­der the watch­ful eye of Plun­ket.

From an­te­na­tal classes to anti-im­mu­ni­sa­tion cam­paigns the play touches on the tri­als and tribu­la­tions, the joys and de­lights of par­ent­hood and cham­pi­ons the role Plun­ket has played in our lives.
