Play to raise funds for allergy sufferers
A group of well known actors are taking to the stage to help Peter Leitch help Allergy New Zealand.
The Auckland Theatre Company is performing Who Needs Sleep Anyway? by playwrights Roger Hall and his daughter Pip Hall at SkyCity Theatre on June 25.
The 6.30pm performance, starring Kiwi funnyman Mark Hadlow as the lovable Baby P, will be a fundraiser for Allergy New Zealand – the charity that works to improve quality of life for people with allergies.
Mr Leitch, the Mad Butcher, is Allergy New Zealand’s ambassador. He will be there to meet people and will be selling and signing copies of his newly released biography What a Ride Mate! The Life and Times of the Mad Butcher.
After the show there will be a question and answer session and guests will be in to win spot prizes including a voucher for Mad Butcher products, Skytower tickets and a Mountain Breeze air purifier. There are more than $1000 of prizes to be won.
Who Needs Sleep Anyway? is a comedy celebration of 100 years of bringing up babies under the watchful eye of Plunket.
From antenatal classes to anti-immunisation campaigns the play touches on the trials and tribulations, the joys and delights of parenthood and champions the role Plunket has played in our lives.
Tickets, $55 or $60, include a programme, spot prizes, and time with the actors and are available through Allergy New Zealand’s office, call 623-3912 or go to www.allergy.org.nz.
