Generous Mt Roskill residents opened their wallets last month to help raise $219,000 for Save the Children Myanmar response day.

Funds were raised by customers of Bunnings stores across New Zealand and Australia who bought sausages or made donations.

The fundraiser was held by Bunnings and Save the Children for those affected by Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar.

Save the Children executive director John Bowis is delighted by the result.

“It’s indicative of the enthusiastic way in which Bunnings’ staff and customers embraced the event.”
