Police are looking for a thief who brandished scissors while robbing a Mt Albert dairy last month.

The offender entered the Asquith Superette on Asquith Ave at 12.40pm on May 6 and approached the lone shopkeeper.

He pulled out a pair of scissors and threatened the victim, demanding money from the till.

The shopkeeper opened the till drawer and the offender removed cash before leaving the shop.

He was last seen running towards Wairere Ave.

The offender is described as a male Pakeha or light-skinned Maori or Polynesian, 18 to 25 years old, about 1.87 metres tall with a slim build.

He has brown hair, clean shaven, wearing a black t-shirt, beige trousers, white sneakers and a New York Yankees baseball cap.

Anyone with information can call detective sergeant Geoff Baber on 820-5781.
