Courts take tough line on busted tagger
An 18-year-old Mt Roskill man has been convicted of criminal damage for graffiti vandalism after appearing in the Auckland District Court last week.
The offender pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay the council $235 reparation to clean up the damage and perform 100 hours of community service.
He was arrested by police for graffiti vandalism on June 12 after his photo appeared on the television programme Police 10-7 the previous night.
The photographic evidence of the offender vandalising a Hillsborough property was obtained during a surveillance operation by Auckland City Council.
