Antarc­tic mem­o­ra­bilia on show

An in­trigu­ing col­lec­tion of Antarc­tic mem­o­ra­bilia is on show for the cen­tral city li­brary’s latest ex­hi­bi­tion.

Antarc­tica: A Tale to Tell fea­tures books, maps and pho­to­graphs cho­sen from the li­brary’s spe­cial col­lec­tions and cov­er­ing a wide pe­riod, from early ex­plo­ration to the Ere­bus dis­as­ter.

One of the ear­li­est pieces on dis­play is the first pub­lished ac­count of Antarc­tica: Jour­nal of the Res­o­lu­tion’s Voy­age 17721775, pub­lished in 1776.

The ex­hi­bi­tion runs un­til Au­gust 24 on the li­brary’s Her­itage floor, level 2. En­try is free.
