Holiday fun for the kids
Youthtown is the place for parents looking to keep their kids busy during the winter school holidays.
The charitable trust has organised a wide range of exciting activities for children of all ages.
Four separate holiday programmes will be run every day of the week from July 7 to 18.
Outdoor activities are going to be a big part for the 11 to 16-year-olds and the seven-plus group.
They will carry out different adventures including a visit to the Waiwera hot pools, inline skating and climbing on the harbour bridge. Juniors from five to six years old will cuddle live kiwis and take their own bears home from the Teddy Bear Factory in Sylvia Park.
Many other activities are planned to ensure children are kept as active as possible.
Holiday programme development officer Mat Osooso Naseri says children are not only well cared for but also encouraged to “stretch themselves, gain self-confidence, and enjoy some wonderful new experiences”.
She says children and teenagers from all over Auckland have shown huge interest in the new holiday programmes.
“Places on our programmes are filling up fast,” she says. “It might be a good idea to get in touch immediately if you want your child to have the kind of school holiday they will look back on with pleasure.”
