A world cy­ber-law ex­pert gives a pub­lic lec­ture at Auck­land Uni­ver­sity on Novem­ber 3.

Lawrence Les­sig will speak on how law and tech­nol­ogy is chang­ing the fu­ture of the in­ter­net.

The Stan­ford Uni­ver­sity law pro­fes­sor founded the Cen­tre for In­ter­net and So­ci­ety, which stud­ies how new tech­nol­ogy and the law can pro­mote free speech, di­ver­sity and democ­racy.

He is in New Zealand to give the key­note ad­dress at the Li­brary and In­for­ma­tion As­so­ci­a­tion con­fer­ence on Novem­ber 4. The pub­lic lec­ture is held in the Owen Glenn Build­ing au­di­to­rium, 12 Grafton Rd, at 6.30pm.
