Auckland City Harbour News - - News -

People who can’t get to a polling booth on election day can cast their vote early over the next fortnight.

Advance voting opens today and closes on November 7.

There will be 50 advance voting places around the Auckland region for people who may be working, going overseas or cannot vote for any other reason on election day, November 8.

Auckland central electorate returning officer Walter Wilson says staff will also be visiting resthomes and hospitals to ensure all residents have the chance to vote.

“We want to make voting as easy and accessible as possible for people,” he says.

“Providing accessible places to make an advance vote is part of that activity.”

Advance votes can be cast at the Auckland Central electorate headquarters at 234 Hobson St, AUT’s Wellesley St campus, Level 2, WC Building, the Grey Lynn Community Centre at 510 Richmond Rd and the All Saints Anglican Church at 284 Ponsonby Rd.
