West End are catching up
West End are hot on the heels of competition leaders Parnell in the Caro Bowl interclub tennis competition.
The return of Davis Cup player Adam Thompson from professional events strengthened an already formidable West End side, who trounced Remuera 6-0.
James Greenhalgh and Wesley Whitehouse also secured their 11th straight doubles match for West End.
Meanwhile Blockhouse Bay moved into third place after a 4-2 win over Royal Oak.
Blockhouse Bay managed to lose both doubles matches, but came back to win all four singles in straight sets.
And Campbell Park maintained their semifinal chances after scoring a 4-2 victory over Pompallier.
In the women’s competition Parnell put the brakes on previous leaders Royal Oak 5-1, while Pompallier scored a 5-1 victory over Glendowie to pick up their first win of the season.
The competition takes a break over Labour weekend returning with the fifth round the following Friday.
