Helpers needed for mission appeal

Auckland City Harbour News - - News -

People keen to get into the Christmas spirit early are invited to help with the Auckland City Mission’s annual street appeal.

The appeal, which will see volunteers in the central city, Newmarket and Takapuna, is part of the mission’s annual Christmas appeal which raises money to support the most marginalised people in the community, including the homeless, children living in poverty, people with addictions and isolated elderly people.

The city mission says volunteering requires minimal time commitment and is perfect for groups of people with busy schedules.

It doesn’t include any begging, pleading or asking – just a friendly face.

Collectors are provided with bibs, buckets and stickers.

The street appeal is on Friday, December 12.

To register as a volunteer call Adrian Bisquera on 303-9209.
