Taggers chased from roof of cafe
Vandals struck at Garnet Station cafe early on Labour Day, the third incident in a week.
Owners Verity George and Lisa Prager, who live on-site, were woken at 4.45am by taggers on the roof of the cafe.
Ms Prager chased the group of youths to where a getaway car was waiting up the road.
The graffiti was painted over immediately.
The cafe’s front windows were smashed in two incidents the week prior – once with rocks and then with a baseball bat three days later.
Ms George suspects a youth gang is behind the attacks. She hopes now they have “eyeballed” the vandals, they won’t be back.
