Drivers caught in police sting
More than 100 drunk drivers were caught in a four-day police sting last week.
Some were caught with babies and young children in their vehicles.
Checkpoints were set up in the city and surrounding suburbs, from Blockhouse Bay to Westmere, Mt Albert and Glen Innes.
Of the drivers stopped in the sting, 131 had excess breath alcohol, 18 vehicles were impounded and 37 people had their licences suspended.
Twelve people were arrested for other offences.
These included stealing vehicles, possession of cannabis and breaching bail.
