Parading league cup
The Rugby League World Cup will join the celebrations at the Auckland Farmers Santa Parade on Sunday.
The trophy, won by the Kiwis in Saturday’s historic win, will be based at the New Zealand Rugby League Museum at NZRL headquarters in Penrose.
But general manager Peter Cordtz says there are plans to tour the cup around the country so as many New Zealanders as possible can see it. He says touring the cup works in well with junior development programmes the NZRL plans on introducing next year. As well as having the trophy on display at the museum, it will be at the parade on Sunday.
The museum at 7 Beasley Ave, Penrose, is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11am to 3pm by appointment.
