Have a lazy Sunday
What’s better than a Sunday afternoon with a drink and a feed while being entertained in a sprawling garden. And all for a good cause.
Lazy Sunday, a picnic organised by the North Harbour Club Charitable Trust, will be held on March 1 at the Mincher Gardens in Coatesville, the home of Bruce and Angela Spooner.
Endorsed as a garden of national significance by the New Zealand Gardens Trust, the property has mature trees, manicured lawns, bush walks and ponds.
Jazz singer Briar Ross, crooner Grant Chilcott and Cruisin with Tina Cross and Rikki Morris will perform.
Treat your tastebuds with food provided by Eurest, including whitebait fritters, mussel fritters, roast pork and lamb and wash it down with a glass of wine or boutique beer.
Food and drink must be purchased on site.
Because of the lake, river and streams running through the property children under 14 are not allowed in.
Lazy Sunday is on March 1 from 11am to 4pm at the gardens, 338 Coatesville/ Riverhead Highway.
Tickets cost $56.25. Phone Joan or Ross Finlayson on 489-9083.
