Cash needed for charity trip
Funds are still needed for a charity trip to help Myanmar’s children.
St Lukes Body Shop manager Hali Purcell left last Tuesday for a Thai village, Mae Sot, on the Thailand and Myanmar border, where she will spend a month teaching children in schools and boarding houses.
She is volunteering for the charity Children on the Edge and had hoped to fundraise $2000 towards her trip so she could take sports equipment.
But she raised only $360 through a bake sale and massage evening and has taken out a loan to cover the rest.
Miss Purcell says she will still be able to leave equipment behind but not as much as she had hoped.
Anyone wanting to donate to the trip can deposit money in a specially set up BNZ Bank account.
The account name is COTE and the number is 02-0316-03564-68-097.
