Dream trip for wildlife lovers
Wildlife lovers can take the holiday of a lifetime and support a worthy cause at the same time.
The SPCA Borneo Wildlife Adventure is a 15-day trip from September 22 to October 6.
Travellers will stay in hotels, have private transport and an escort from the SPCA along with an expert tour guide.
The tour itinerary focuses on wildlife and the natural environment of Sabah and Sarawak, including a three-night stay in a rainforest eco-lodge.
Highlights include visits to two orangutan rehabilitation centres and an overnight stay on Turtle Island, where endangered green turtles come ashore to lay eggs.
There is also time to relax on the white-sand beaches and clear waters of Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park.
The $4760 cost per person includes a $1000 donation to the Auckland SPCA and a copy of the latest Lonely Planet guide for Borneo.
A free information evening on Borneo and the trip will be held on February 24 at 6.30pm in Parnell. To book a place go to www. spca.org.nz or call 256-7310.
Spaces are limited for the information evening and the wildlife adventure.
