Campaign to help make brains bigger
If you want a bigger brain, the Neurological Foundation has a programme to help you achieve it.
As part of Brain Awareness Week from March 16 to 22 the foundation is running a Grow a Bigger Brain in Seven Days campaign.
Research has found exercise, sleep, managing stress levels and doing mental exercises can help keep the brain healthy.
People who register at www.brain week.co.nz will be asked to take part in daily puzzles and input the activities they have done during that day, including if they’ve eaten healthy food and exercised.
All the activities will be rewarded by points so people can see how many brain cells they have grown at the end of the week.
Results will be compared by region, age and gender.
Neurological Foundation executive director Max Ritchie says learning new things and enjoying life is the best way to keep the brain healthy for people of all ages.
